The application for the Genesee Opportunity Stipend is ONLY for use by 2016 graduates at this time.

The Genesee Intermediate School District (GISD) is pleased that the Genesee Opportunity (GO) Stipend ballot proposal was passed by voters on August 2. As a result, GISD has been in the process of working through the rules and procedures for implementing this significant, one-of-a-kind program for residents and graduates of a Genesee County high school.

The reimbursement of eligible costs under the GO Stipend will begin with the second semester for all 2016 graduates; and has now moved from the pre-application phase to submission of the final application. 2016 graduates can expect to receive a letter, the application, and related information release forms via US mail in early October. The application and release form are also available in the Application area of this website (see informational letter here.)

All 2016 graduates who wish to use the GO Stipend must complete, sign, and return the application and release forms.

Once the completed application is received, Genesee Opportunity staff will verify the information provided to determine eligibility for the GO Stipend. Students who have already taken a qualifying assessment for certification at a training institution can call (810) 591-GCGO (4246) to discuss eligibility for reimbursement.
